Welcome

The Northeast Agricultural and Resource Economics Association (NAREA) will hold its 2018 Annual Meeting from Sunday, June 10, 2018 through Tuesday, June 12, 2018, with a pre-conference workshop to be held beginning June 9, 2018. Meeting events will take place at the Hilton DoubleTree Philadelphia Center City, located on the Avenue of the Arts in the heart of Philadelphia.

This year’s conference features many opportunities to interact and learn. Invited keynote presentations will include Pol Antras of Harvard University, Kevin Volpp of University of Pennsylvania, Joseph Price of Brigham Young University and Marc Bellemare of University of Minnesota. In addition the program will feature selected paper sessions, a poster session, discussion symposia, and workshop sessions. A two-day pre conference workshop entitled “Advances in the Economic Analysis of Food System Drivers and Effects,” led by Ted Jaenicke (Penn State University), will be held before the Annual Meeting from noon on Saturday, June 9th until the afternoon of Sunday, June 10th. The Annual Meeting will begin with an informal opening reception at the DoubleTree Center City on Sunday evening poolside; the academic program will follow on Monday and Tuesday. We encourage participation from academic, public, and private sector economists interested in agricultural, environmental, or resource issues; and welcome professionals, faculty, and graduate students.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the DoubleTree Philadelphia Center City for $199 per room plus taxes from June 8 through June 13. Accommodations can be booked online.
