The Northeast Agricultural and Resource Economics Association (NAREA) will hold its 2019 Annual Meeting from Sunday, June 9, 2019 through Tuesday, June 11, 2019, with a post-conference workshop to be held June 11-12, 2019. Meeting events will take place at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel.
This year’s conference will feature selected paper sessions, a poster session, discussion symposia, and workshop sessions. A two-day post conference workshop entitled “Environmental Regulation and Innovation in Local Communities,” organized by Donna Ramirez-Harrington (University of Vermont) and Martin Heintzelman (Clarkson University), will be held after the Annual Meeting from the afternoon of Tuesday, June 11 until the afternoon of Wednesday, June 12. The Annual Meeting will begin with an informal opening reception on Sunday evening; the academic program will follow on Monday and Tuesday. We encourage participation from academic, public, and private sector economists interested in agricultural, environmental, or resource issues; and welcome professionals, faculty, and graduate students.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel for $161 per room plus taxes from June 8 through June 12. Accommodations can be booked online. Please identify yourself as associated with the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association (NAREA) Annual Meeting Group. This reduced rate will be available until May 9, 2019. Reservations received by the hotel after May 9, 2019 will be accepted based on availability. Since availability cannot be guaranteed, we encourage you to make your hotel reservation as soon as possible.
Conference and workshop registration fees and information are available here.
On Monday evening, as a relaxing end to the conference day, we organized a boat trip via the Heritage for a jaunt around the Harbor. Join us for a relaxing evening trip and take in the beauty of a sunset and the spectacular lights of the city, all while enjoying your favorite cocktail (yes, there will be a cash bar). The trip is scheduled from 7 to 9 pm, and will cost $35 per person. Registration prior to the event is required.
